Description of 2MASS-GC02 |
2MASS-GC02 was discovered by 2MASS telescope operator Joselino Vasquez in his observing logs as a suspected globular cluster, and confirmed by visual inspection of arbitrary 2MASS Atlas images, together with its apparent neighbor, 2MASS-GC01. It is heavily obscured in the visible part of the spectrum by about 18.0 +/- 1.0 magnitudes, and therefore only discovered in the infrared. 2MASS-GC02 was Milky Way Globular Cluster No. 149 to be discovered.
