AbstractA BV photometric investigation of the Globular Cluster NGC 288 situated in the direction of the South Galactic Pole, was carried using the 1m telescope of Cerro La Silla (ESO) for the photoelectric work and the 1m telescope of Cerro Las Campanas (CARSO) for the photographic work. Sixteen stars were observed photoelectrically, the limiting magnitude is V=15.98. Using this sequence 280 stars were measured photographically. The derived apparent distance modulus is (m-M)app. = 14.80. The reddening E(B-V)=0.05. The true distance modulus is (m-M)o=14.65. The distance is 8.5 Kpc from the sun and the galactic plane and 12 Kps from the galactic centre (...)
