AbstractThe particular relationship of the Milky Way globular cluster system to the other stellar components is currently unknown. While some clusters have kinematics similar to galactic stellar populations, they may not share the same formation history. The metal-rich globular cluster NGC 5927 is sometimes called a thick disk cluster but little abundance data exist to link this cluster to the well studied trends in field star populations. We have gathered moderate S/N (S/N=40) medium resolution (R=20,000) FLAMES spectra of giants and turnoff stars in NGC 5927 and moderate S/N (S/N=40) high resolution (R=40,000) spectra of horizontal branch stars. Our aim is to perform an abundance analysis and make direct comparisons of the cluster abundances with abundances trends in the thin and thick disk stellar populations.
